Following our highly successful 2021 Conference held at the National Army Museum, our 12th New Researchers’ Conference will be held at the University of Salford on Saturday 15th October 2022. This annual Conference provides a forum for those who are engaged in postgraduate and early career research in military history and its related disciplines to present their work in a constructive and supportive environment, as well as enabling them to network with other historians.
We particularly welcome proposals on traditional aspects of military history, such as strategy, tactics, and technology, encompassing war on land, at sea, and in the air. However, we are also keen to attract PGRs and ECRs engaging in different methodologies and researching more divergent themes, including (but not limited to) cultural representations of conflict, and the impact of war upon particular sections of society, such as race, gender, and sexuality.
The conference will take place at the University of Salford’s MediaCityUK campus, located
at the heart of the Salford Quays alongside the BBC and ITV studios, and the Imperial War Museum North: https://www.salford.ac.uk/our-facilities/mediacity-campus
Proposals (c. 300 words) for papers of 20 minutes in length should be submitted, using the form below, to the conference organiser Dr Brian Hall at email@example.com by 19 August 2022.
