Via the website of Pangbourne College we have just learnt that Robin Brodhurst has died. Robin had been a member of the BCMH for several decades and joined the Committee as Secretary last year.
The Pangbourne website states that Robin responded 'to an advertisement in 1990 for “a Renaissance man, with an interest in books, bats or boats”, he added colour to life at Pangbourne for almost 30 years."
Interested in those three subjects (and many others) he certainly was. Adding colour - absolutely. A 'Renaissance man'.... How he would have relished that discussion!
All of us who knew him have been shocked by this unexpected news. We will remember and miss him enormously.
I have been contacted by Robin's sister, Sally. It would seem that Robin died peacefully in his sleep.
She says: "We now have a date for the Thanksgiving Service for Robin. It will be on Tuesday 28 March at 11.30 at Pangbourne College, Falklands Chapel RG8 8LA."
Messages of condolence etc may be sent to her at:
