Dear ICMH Leaders, Colleagues, Friends, and Military History Professionals,
Please find attached the quarterly update, dated 1 October 2022, of the ICMH Forthcoming Military History Conference listing. The purpose of this listing is to provide you with information on future international conferences for your consideration of attendance, to help share military history techniques, methodologies, and best practices. Please also consider using this list to possibly deconflict your planned conferences with others being held at the same time.
The most important item listed in this update is an update on our 2023 ICMH Congress:
Name of conference: XLVIII Congress of the International Commission of Military History
-Conference topic/theme: War and the City: The Effects of Armed Conflicts on Urban Space and Population (T)
-Dates of conference: 3-8 September 2023
-Location of conference: Istanbul, Türkiye
-Organizer/host/sponsor of conference: Turkish Military History Commission
-Conference point of contact: atasayozdemir@gmail.com
-Additional conference information: To be highlighted in ICMH Newsletter #38, December 2022
If you are aware of any forthcoming military history conferences not included in this listing — and there seem to be many conferences being held — please send me the relevant conference details, and I will include that conference in the next quarterly update. Thank you.
Thank you very much. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Harold
