Saturday 28th March 2020

Helion and Company’s ‘From Retinue to Regiment’ book series warmly invites you to our first Battlefield Study Day. The first half of the day will be spent with War of the Roses specialist Mike Ingram, who has written extensively on Richard III and Bosworth, and archaeologist Mathew Morris, the lead archaeologist who discovered the King’s remains.

Following a delicious lunch, and a demonstration by The Harrington Household of the weapons and equipment used in the battle, we take to our cars for the second half of the day. Mike will lead the group on a tour of firstly a vantage point overlooking the new battlefield, and then onto the field itself, where thanks to his own research and archaeological evidence he will be able to guide us through the events on that fateful day. Please bring sturdy footwear and warm clothes.

Location

9.30am for 10.00am start. The Lancaster Arms, Station Road, Desford, Leicester, LE9 9FP. Cost £30. Book via the link below.
