British Member of the Educational Committee (EC) of the International Commission of Military History (ICMH)

The EC of the ICMH aims to foster international cooperation in the teaching of military history (Statutes of the EC). One of its key tasks is to support and encourage early career scholars, notably through organising the PhD Workshops within the framework of the ICMH’s annual congresses. Similarly, the EC cooperates with the Executive Board of the ICMH in awarding the André Corvisier Prize for PhD theses on Military History.

The General Committee (GC) of the BCMH is now looking for a mid-career scholar (e.g. Senior Lecturer) at a British university, who is interested in representing the BCMH on the EC. This would involve attending the ICMH’s annual congresses, and participating in the EC’s planning activities throughout the year. Once nominated by the GC, the BCMH candidate would have to be elected by the EC at the next ICMH Congress in Poland (28 August to 2 September 2022).

If you are interested, please send a short rationale (max. 500 words) and a short bio (max. 300 words) to the President president@bcmh.org.uk, Secretary General secgen@bcmh.org.uk , and the International Secretary of the BCMH Intsec@bcmh.org.uk.
