The fourth Richard Holmes Memorial Lecture was held on Monday 9th October at Armoury House in London, the Headquarters of the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC).  We are most grateful to Michael Orr for making the arrangements for members of the BCMH, the Battlefields Trust and the Guild of Battlefield Guides (GBG) to attend.

The speaker was the Chief of the General Staff , Gen Sir Nick Carter, who had known Richard throughout his life. https://twitter.com/ArmyCGS?lang=en   The CGS spoke of the challenges facing Army, Government and Society in the present day and his remarks were covered in the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail.
