The attached advertisement may be of interest to BCMH members, members who teach at UK universities or who may have students who might be interested.  

Deadline for applications: 21 February 2020

The successful applicant will work on a project to consider the social history of Preston as a garrison town, 1848-1948, based around the history of Fulwood Barracks in the town.

S/he applicant will receive full fees for 3.5 years and a maintenance grant for the same period of time. In addition, s/he will be eligible to apply for a range of different support grants from the AHRC Northwest Consortium. The project will also involve working closely with the Lancashire Infantry Museum, Preston. It is therefore likely to be of interest either to someone considering a career in museums or someone interested in going into academia.
