Latest News

The Call for Papers was very successful and this event will now run for two whole days on the Friday and Saturday.

We are pleased to announce that booking is now open for Theatres of War: The BCMH New Researchers' Conference, 8-9 November 2019.

 Programme

The conference programme can  be found on the Lancaster events page here.

 Booking

Through Lancaster University's online store, you will be able to book your delegate rate (either for the two full days of the conference or for the Friday/Saturday individually), as well as a place at the conference dinner on Friday evening and accommodation on campus. Further details are provided on the online store. Please note that the deadline for booking is 18 October 2019, and that booking for campus accommodation and the conference dinner is on a first come, first served basis.

If you have any difficulty with or queries regarding booking, please contact Ms Amy Harding at a.e.harding@lancaster.ac.uk.

The principal conference venue on Friday 8 November will be The Storey, in central Lancaster. The keynote lecture will be delivered on Friday evening at Lancaster Priory, next to The Storey. The venue on Saturday 9 November will be Lancaster University campus.

Please note that the keynote lecture, delivered by Professor John Gillingham, is included in Friday's delegate rate as well as the full delegate rate; the lecture will also be open to the general public, who can purchase tickets for the keynote alone.

Details of how to reach Lancaster, and of travel between town and campus, can be found here. Information about attractions and dining in Lancaster can be found here and here; staff in the Department of History have compiled their recommendations for historical sites to visit in the region here, but this is just the tip of the iceberg!

We look forward to welcoming you to Lancaster in November.
