Call for Papers, BCMH New Researchers’ Conference 26/27 November 2021
26 November @ 3:00 pm - 27 November @ 5:00 pm
British Commission for Military History New Researchers’ Conference
This conference, organised by the British Commission for Military History in association with the National Army Museum, intends to showcase the breadth and depth of current research being undertaken by postgraduate and early career historians in the field of military history, broadly defined and without restriction as to period or region.
Postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual British Commission for Military History’s New Researchers’ Conference provides a forum for those who are engaged in postgraduate and early career research in military history and its related disciplines to present their work in a constructive and supportive environment, as well as enabling them to network with each other and other historians. While we welcome proposals on traditional aspects of military history, such as strategy, tactics, and technology, we are also keen to attract PGRs and ECRs engaging in different methodologies and researching more divergent themes, including (but not limited to) cultural representations of conflict, and the impact of war upon particular sections of society, such as race, gender, and sexuality.
The conference will take place at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London SW3 4HT Home | National Army Museum (nam.ac.uk).
Proposals (c. 300 words) for papers of 20 minutes in length should be submitted, using the form below, to the conference organiser Dr Brian Hall at email@example.com by 30 September 2021.
