It's Time to Commit!
The organisation for the tour is now well underway and we wish to thank you all for your support, and for sending in your deposits so far in advance. As stated initially, these deposits were refundable if you found you were unable to attend - but we have now reached the time to seek your firm commitment to the tour.
We hope that you will all have seen the update in Mars & Clio on 20 December and now remind you that the cut-off date is the AGM on Saturday 18 Feb. If you do not tell us of your wish to withdraw before that date, we will assume you are attending and your deposits become non-refundable. Full payment of the outstanding amount will be needed before Fri, 24 March, as we will then have to pay the balance of the hotel and ferry costs.
For those who have requested single rooms, the remaining payment will be £400 (for a total of £650 as deposits of £250 per person have been paid) and for those who are sharing a double or twin room, the balance will be £450 per couple (i.e. £225 per person).
We are pleased to have been able to stay in line with the amounts originally mooted in our letter of 22 August last year.
This is an outline of the tour. Following the detailed recce at the end of March we will issue a firmer timetable.

Sat 29 April: Reims area most of day. We will continue our examination of the Nivelle Offensive, concluding with the Battle of Malmaison in October which, although taking place some months after the initial assaults, in many ways represents the culmination of the Offensive. Approx one hour drive to Overnight Arras.
Sun 30 April: Arras area. Whole day looking at experiences on the first day, the attempt to capture Monchy-le-Preux and a look at Bullecourt. Overnight Arras.
Mon 1 May: Morning – Arras area. Conclude with Canadians at Fresnoy before lunch and then Afternoon - Return to London via 16.05 ferry from Calais to Dover.
